I have a couple of tax questions regarding California tax law.  Any CA CPA mustacians here who would mind if I asked a few questions about some specific tax laws in California?
We've been offered a job and I want to see what types of tax implications I may have not considered... I've already seen all of the cost of living issues (ouch!) and I'm worried about missing something else big that shows up at tax time.  Thanks in advance

Not a CPA, but a long time CA resident.  State income taxes are a bitch!  Max rate is 11% (I think).  OTOH property taxes can be better than many states.  When you buy real estate the basic rate is 1% of purchase price and can only go up 2% a year.  Big boon for long long term property owners.

Thanks for replying.  One of my questions is that we have rental properties in another state that are in our names and if we're following the tax laws correctly, it looks as if we'll have to claim that in CA as well and therefore pay tax on it in CA instead of at the home state... ??
