Need advice for growing my moustache in Vancouver, BC.
« on: May 17, 2015, 05:49:51 PM »
Hi everyone,

I'm just starting to make some changes to my life/finances so I can retire early. This blog really inspired me to get going, but I'm not sure where to start.

 I live in Vancouver, BC Canada but don't know where to start when it comes to investing, etc. I am an American with permanent residency here, and looking to be here permanently.

I only have $20k in savings but no other assets to my name besides an old, used car and a used motorcycle. Alison this is one of the most expensive cities in Canada.

Current Debt:
*20k in student loans USD (and exchange rate is awful right now!)

Steps I've taken so far:
* ride bicycle everywhere
* 20k in savings account
* starting to cut down on extraneous spending and eating out

Can someone hate twit experience starting out, advice on investing, etc?

Thanks!

- VanStache

Hi VanStache,

You don't give us a lot of information to go on - how old are you? What is your timeline like for retiring?
if you want specific help coming up with an actionable plan, I suggest you write a case study using the template you can find here:http://forum.mrmoneymustache.com/ask-a-mustachian/how-to-write-a-%27case-study%27-topic/

Welcome to the forums!
