I'm looking to increase my personal finance reading in 2016 and was hoping to get some suggestions.

My top five thus far:

(1) Bogleheads Guide to Investing
(2) I Will Teach You to be Rich
(3) Millionaire Next Door
(4) Your Money or Your Life
(5) The Richest Man in Babylon

Ones I'm thinking about:

(1) The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up (about minimalism)
(2) Millionaire Teacher
(3) The Compound Effect (a  behavioral book)
(4) Seven Habits of Highly Effective People
(5) The Four Pillars of Investing

What are your favorites? What would you recommend?

I'd recommend borrowing from the library for free and take notes.

Changed my OP to comply with your view of frugality. Which books would you recommend checking out of the library?

I liked the Richest Man in Babylon as well.

Life-Changing Magic helped me a lot after I downsized from a 1 bedroom apartment to a studio suite.

Early Retirement Extreme was pretty good, though a bit dry to read.

One series I've always liked was Helen Andelin's Fascinating Womanhood books. They were written a long time ago for 1950s housewives and really hammer on the importance of developing solid domestic skills, keeping your home running smoothly, being thrifty, and having a happy relationship with your partner. A lot of it is pretty outdated, but the bones are good.

I have only read two books that fall into this category:

A Random Walk Down Street, which is a pretty popular one that flogs index investing while giving some intro investment knowledge and history.  I listened to it on audiobook and enjoyed it.
The Millionaire Next door, which you mentioned, and which I loved.

Some books on my vague to-read list:

Flash Boys
The Intelligent Investor
Getting Things Done (very tangentially related, but I added cause you mentioned 7 Habits)

plus two textbooks:
Principles of Corporate Finance by Brealey, Myers & Allen
Options, Futures and Other Derivatives by Hull

I recommend Flash Boys. If you like Michael Lewis' style, you will also like The Big Short and maybe even Liar's Poker which is a bit Wall Street nerd like but hey I loved it.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
