Considering switching to Republic Wireless, ha(ve a tablet (+phones), options?

I am considering switching our 2 phone + tablet plan with TMobile to republic wireless
1. We have ~100 a month total, use under 500 MB each on any device in busy months
2. republic wireless looks like being significantly cheaper (2 phones for approximately $40).

questions
a. any recommendation for low use, low cost cellular plan for tablet (nexus 7) ?
b. actual switching experience comments would be welcomed
