My stupid car situation

I'm a bit goofy and ended up with 3 vehicles before I started reading MMM.

1. 2010 Toyota 4runner
2. 2008 Honda Accord
3. Lease on 2013 Audi

Really, I only need one car. Now I realize I only want one as well... my assessment is to sell the Accord and 4runner while waiting out the 3 years left on the lease. Or is there a better path?

It'd make much more sense to get rid of the Audi, if you can. What are the comparative costs of staying in the lease vs getting out of the lease and keeping the Accord instead? (please tell me it's not financed...)

Accord is payed off and would make a lot more sense to keep, but unless I want to pay more buying it out and trying to sell it myself, I don't think there was anyway out. I understand if there isn't much sympathy as reflecting now, it does look silly, but at the time I was planning on keeping the Audi and 4Runner while selling the Accord - but the MMM way has shown the the folly.

Time to reread the fine print on the lease to make sure!

A lot of leases are transferrable.  If you get someone to "take over the payments" from you and you do it in writing, the leasor will sign the lease over to the new person who is on the hook.  If you can get someone to do that cut your losses, it might work.

Happy to announce I am down to two vehicles.

Where I sold the vehicle, the service rep informed me that he currently owns 6 vehicles. 2 sports cars, 2 SUVs, and 1 truck. Glad I'm not there ;-)

Yes, it looks like the best choice will to be sell the 4Runner. Websites like swapalease appears to have pretty mixed reviews (some calling it a scam).
