Mustachian ideas for unmustachian drive
« on: August 19, 2014, 05:58:14 AM »
So I spend hours a week behind the wheel driving to and from several clinics that I work at. I know I know driving is a waste of money...can't help it with my job (even on a day when I work 20 min ride from home I'm liable to get consulted at another hospital 30 miles away)

So I have been spending the time with NPR and more recently audiobooks. I have grown tired of NPR I feel like they're always talking about the same stories. Audiobooks (nonfiction) have been great and very informative but they will represent a call to moving forward as they typically run about $15-$20 each.

Any ideas on cheap/free audiobooks?

Even on audiobooks that may cost money, which do you recommend on investing and mustachian type finance?

Just curious on the job - do you get compensated for the miles you drive? If not I would definitely count the cost of gas + maintenance + depreciation into your wages and decide if it's really worth it to hold the job, or if you should be looking for another one.
