So it looks like I'll be moving to Colorado this summer. I've been waiting on orders to my next assignment for a couple months now and I was informed this morning that's where I'm going. I held off on asking this question because there was an equal chance I'd end up in Europe.
Anways, the question is what kind of rewards card should I get? My current credit card is a vanilla 1:1 points card from all purchases. I was looking at either a more robust points card like the American Express Blue Cash Preferred, or some kind of airlines card. AMEX doesn't charge annual fees to active duty military and 6% groceries, 3% gas, and 1-3% everywhere else sounds pretty good. On the other hand, there are a number of cards that focus on airline miles. Now that we'll be more than a day's drive from families (California) we'll be looking to fly 2-3 times a year (there's three of us). Any thoughts?
