Montreal?

I am traveling to Montreal next week. We've done a bit of research on the city, but only have a very vague plan of what to do.

Any mustachian suggestions of things not to miss?
We are staying just south (southwest?) of the botanical gardens- so interesting food suggestions walking distance from there would be especially helpful; though we are apparently walking distance to transit, so that opens up many options :)

I enjoyed the Atwater market, Jean Talon, walking up Mont Royal, renting a Bixi bike and riding along the canal.

I think our favourite meal was in Kazu, but that was several years ago.
