You've called a doctor.
"Doc, I'm sick. Give it to me straight. Am I gonna live? How long do I have left? Does the surgery hurt?"
With literally zero additional information.
I'm going to assume, based on this post, that you don't work on cars, and neither does your father. At which point, you're probably looking at a minimum of $100, probably more, for someone else to come diagnose and fix the problem, even if it's very minor.
Cars cost money to keep running. And if you're the kind of person who won't provide details to people who fix cars, you tend to get a bit of a "pain in the ass" fee tacked on - though not nearly the same fee as for someone who thinks they know how to fix cars, insists it must be a particular part, insists you replace it, and is wrong.
Good luck. I'll ballpark it at $500, with a range of $100-$5000 for that car.
