Anyone else use Thrive Market?
« on: February 13, 2018, 10:51:37 AM »
I have been trying to eat healthier overall and their prices for chickpea pasta and other gluten free items seem way cheaper then my local grocery store.

Anyone try them yet?

The problem with Thrive comes when you try to cancel.

Me: Sent Thrive an email during the free introductory period indicating I wanted to cancel

Thrive Market (actual email)

Hello ****,

Before you go, we’d like to offer you an exclusive 3-month membership for $19.95 as an alternative. This shortened membership will allow you the same access to savings without having to commit to the full year’s price. This change is already reflected on your account.

Also, if you take me up on my offer, I'll extend your FREE trial membershi for 30 more days!

However, if you’d prefer not to take advantage of this offer, please reply to this email.

Me: Replied that I still wanted to cancel, while wondering quietly why I had to opt out again to prevent them extending the membership.

Two weeks later, Thrive charged my credit card the membership fee.  I tried working it out with them, then finally I disputed it with my credit card because I was done dealing with Thrive. The credit card refunded my account. Thrive then refunded my credit card.  What, why? The credit card had already taken care of it! So they had to charged me the membership fee again. I haven't had any trouble with them since, but if you read the reviews, lots of other people have had similar issues trying to cancel.
