miles hack for United

Could anyone recommend another way to miles hack some United flyer miles?  I just noticed the miles i have for them expire here soon.  I just closed down a Chase card that I know earned miles with them.  Not too sure if they'd allow me to open a new LOC to get their bonus miles or not.  Any chance we could open it in my wife's name but use my flyer number?  Any other card options perhaps?

if you are under the 5/24 rule and you earned those miles from bonus on the CC more than 2 years ago i think you could apply.  I'm not a big united person but maybe using the app to make a purchase will keep those miles active

You can often subscribe to a magazine or something for a very small number of miles and that extends the expiration.

United's credit card (at least the one I was offered) has a huge yearly fee, so that is one I've never gotten...

I use the app to buy $25 giftcards for Amazon.
I can confirm that it resets the expiration date for another 18 months.

Or use their shopping portal the next time you buy something online will keep the miles alive.
