Full-time job alternatives?
« on: October 19, 2017, 04:09:06 PM »
I've just spent the last five years working as a mobile app developer, both as a contractor and as a full-time employee. I got into it because I managed to hit the early app boom and release an app that actually did okay (tens of thousands in total revenue).

At this point in my career, I am at an impasse. Although I really enjoy software development in my hobby time, I don't particularly enjoy the stress of doing it for some clients. Mustachianism has been a true gift to my life. I have dramatically cut my spending this year, and having that level of control gives me a deep feeling of satisfaction.

I want to be a bit more selective with the clients/jobs I take on, if I ever take any on at all. Does anyone have any suggestions for a kind of sinecure type job I could take to pay the bills while waiting out good contracts or working on my own projects? Any software devs who have made a similar transition to something less stressful?
