Teaching in WA state?
«

Is anyone here a teacher in WA state? I'm just starting to research what it would take to get my teaching certificate and there's a lot of info to sort through. Would love to hear some personal experiences.
Some specifics I'm wondering about:
- How long does it take to get a Masters vs. just a certificate?
- How much should I plan to spend for it?
- Is a Masters worth it?
- Has anyone gotten a CTE certificate?
- Are there other states that will accept a WA state teaching certificate?
I have a BA and an MBA and I think I'd ultimately love to teach Business and Marketing in high school (hence the CTE questions). I'm completely flexible on where to attend school if I decide to go down this path.
Any particular resources I should check out or even general advice?
Thanks!

If you have a masters' (MBA) why not teach community college courses instead? They don't have all the pension / benefits, but you would not need more training / education, either.

That's a good idea. Thank you. I didn't realize that I didn't need any extra credentials for that. Though I imagine that I would need some sort of teaching experience maybe?
In any case, I'll look into while I continue to research other certification.
Thanks again.
