« on: August 17, 2022, 11:07:41 AM »
Hi,

I can't find a recent post on this topic. Which carriers would you all recommend?

Thanks,
Sonny

My family uses Mint Mobile, which is frequently mentioned on these forums: https://www.mintmobile.com/plans/

If you're interested, I can PM you a referral code so you can get $15 off.

We use Airvoice for my and DW's phone.  Our kids' phones use Redpocket.  No complaints about either.

Can't say enough good things about MINT mobile. Pay ~$230 every 6 months for 15 gigs of data, unlimited talk/text, includes WiFi hotspot without limitations and international WiFi calling/txting.

I just switched to AT&T prepaid $300 a year plan with 16G of data a month and one month carryover. That's $25 a month. I was a little confused about payment, I thought I needed to pay $300 up front which I did, but then they said I had to pay at least $25 a month. I got that straightened out. Make sure you get a PIN # from your carrier now to port your phone before you switch, it makes it easier. I think taxes made the total $321.40.

How much data do you use every month? How many phones need service?  What carriers (ATT, Verizon, T-Mo) have good service in your area?  Some MVNOs will work with any carrier, some, only one.

If you already have Xfinity internet, XfinityMobile (using the verizon towers) is a good deal.  It was not available when we decided to go with Ting, and we're happy with Ting.
