This is my first posting! I have been lurking for months and learned a lot. I sold my car and used proceeds to pay off the car loan and most of a CC debt. I am biking to work and looking to sell on Craigslist. The problem is I don't really know how to price things. I have an approximately ten year old Bose wave radio with CD and multi-CD changer. It is in great condition and I have someone offering me $150 cash. But I see similar items listed for much more than that on CL and eBay. Does anyone have a sense of what is a fair price for something like that?

Asking prices on ebay/craigslist mean nothing. There can be tons of posts asking for $1k for the same Bose system, but if no one is purchasing it it doesn't matter.
Your best bet is to look at completed sales on ebay. Your local market may not support as high prices as ebay, but if you are close that should be good enough.
Also, people on craigslist love to lowball. I have a board game that will easily sell for $150 on ebay (shipping would be a pain though as it is big), and people were offering me $50 on craigslist (probably so they could sell it on ebay). So, only sell low if you just want to move it fast.

Welcome to the forums!
If you aren't in a rush to sell, price it higher and see what you can get, and then just continually drop the price (as you relist it once/week or whatever).
It won't depreciate much in the next month or two as you do that (given that it's already 10 years old), so then you can test the market to see what's the most you can get.

Thank you so much for the responses! I think I will hold off selling and educate myself first. I know of course that something is only worth what someone else is willing to pay but I will feel better if I have a better sense of the market! Many thanks again

More like I have to run for my life to avoid the fireball descending from the idol's mountaintop.
Fireball Island in near perfect condition. Just checking ebay, two copies went recently for over $250, one of the two was missing pieces. Prices seem to be getting out of line though, as people are asking $400 or more. $100-200 seems more reasonable.
I got it years ago at the salvation army for $2, and at this point I figure I'll keep it to play with my children and just make a pack of replacement cards so they can destroy those.

I was thinking the same thing!
In general, I let things go pretty cheap on Craigslist. I'd rather get rid of it and get something for it rather than have it sit around and get nothing for it.
