Limited Purpose FSA (Dental & Vision)
« on: October 27, 2017, 02:05:41 PM »
Hey all,

For those of you who contributed to a limited purpose FSA and still need to use the funds up, what are you [practically] applying the funds towards to recoup the cost?

Trying to see what we can get to use up funds. Probably more contacts...

The LP FSA can only be used for vision and dental expenses.  There are very few 'over-the-counter' opportunites to use your money for.  We have used our LP FSA for out-of-pocket dental costs (partial amounts not covered by our excellent dental insurance), glasses, contacts, laser eye surgery.  The typical expected expenses.  Our plan allows us to use the grace period through March 15th just like the traditional healthcare FSA so I have eye appointments and plans to get new glasses for myself and one of my sons this upcoming Janauary since I have money left to use.

Here is a list from one FSA administrator that I have worked with in the past:

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
