I've only been at this job for 4 months.
Current job: team is good. They/we are currently working on new technologies. Salary is ok.
Cons: I pay for parking, my boss and I didn't start in the best of terms. We're doing ok. We have a lot of work to be done which means tons overtime (no pay increase)
Pros: team is ok, the gossip about each other, mostly harmless (at least for now). Compensation is ok.
New offer: work remotely from any where (no more pay to park, I can be home).
They are working with old technologies.
401k comp match is less than my current job. Healthcare is cheaper. I'm concerned about the social aspects, and while I could go out and find people to talk to, I usually don't unless I'm forced to be at work.
Have any of you ditch corporate cubicle to work from home? What other aspects did you take into consideration?

I worked from home for 10 years..
At first I wasn't sure how long it would last so I still woke up at a regular time, showered etc etc.. I loosened up over time. I loved working from home with the exception of the social, or lack of social aspect, but I found myself just going out more. I also realized most, almost all of the people I worked with weren't people I wanted to hang out with anyway and there was no real social aspect of water cooler talk and gossip.
I think the real factor here is what's important to you from the job perspective, do you want to make more money or would you rather work with newer tech? You'd adjust to working from home if you choose that route and can always get experience and move on again.

I worked at home for 2 years. No set hours, just get a week's worth of work done in a week.
The upside was a 50ft commute, didn't have to get going as soon as I woke up, and grocery shopping at 2:00 in the afternoon during the week is glorious.
The downside was social. I am single and hanging out with strangers is not my default mode.
I went back to office work mostly for human interaction.

I’ve been WAH for 18 years and I still love it! I’m naturally introverted so am happy by myself. I also have kids who are active in school and sports so that gets me out of the house. I also volunteer at the local food bank and am starting a new hobby (pottery) which gets me out of the house too. I also make sure to take a long walk everyday to get out of the house. It’s up to you to make it work, but for me, it’s a sweet, sweet life!!
