We've moved and I'm not longer within an easy walk of the grocery store while carrying more than a few groceries, but it's still a very easy bike ride. Right now, my bike has a basket on the front, but that's the only cargo capacity. I looked at panniers, and was shocked by the price. Any recommendations? I don't need a ton of capacity, and on Japanese streets a trailer of any kind is out.
(It it matters, my bike does have a flat rack above the back tire. It's hard to explain what kind of bike I have, since it's Japanese and not really like any typical US bike type. It's like a combination between a beach cruiser and a tank (in that it's extremely heavy), I guess.)
