If you happen to live in the Bay Area, BioDiesel Hauling charges $40 per hour (plus $1 per mile), in 15 minute increments, with NO MINIMUM
If the job takes 15 minutes, the labor charge is $10. If you and the CL item are within 10 miles of BDH base, the grand total charge, including fuel, help loading and unloading, dolly, blankets, everything, would be $20
If you don't own a car, its 25% an hour less.
Oh, and the truck runs on 100% biodiesel made from 100% recycled waste vegetable oil, and is a certified "green" business.
Disclaimer: BioDiesel Hauling is me ;)
http://www.biodieselhauling.org/If you don't live in the Bay Area, check your local Craigslist listing for haulers, chances are there is someone else doing something similar.
Unlike any kind of rental, you don't have to figure out a way to get to and from the rental place, so it saves you some time and fuel.
