Replacing baby bottles/nipples/etc?
« on: October 21, 2016, 09:40:16 PM »
Hey guys,

We got a set of those Dr Browns bottles and used them with our first. He's no longer on them now and we're expecting our second due Feb next year. Was wondering if we should buy new nipples or even bottles for that matter, or if it's OK to just reuse everything we have. Nothing appears wrong with any of the bottles or nipples but I don't know if there's some safety concern (of bottles/nipples being reused and rewashed multiple times) and if you're *supposed* to discard of anything... anyone know?

You might have more luck posting this question in the 'mini mustache' section.

IMO: If the nipples aren't discolored or broken down or showing signs of degredation, I would not replace them.  Obviously clean and sterilize everything, but I can't see why it couldn't be re-used.

My experience is that nipples tend to get gross, but bottles are fine. I'd buy one new pack of the newborn nipples to have on hand, bit with one day Amazon shipping you could even skip that.

We have used a ton of hand-me-down bottles and nipples with no problem.  At some point they get old and start to leak, if they leak replace them otherwise.... "Wash, rinse, repeat"!
