I am a 20 year old college student who would like to get started investing and I was wondering where you would suggest I start?

Put it all in VTTSX.

With more details (e.g., see http://forum.mrmoneymustache.com/ask-a-mustachian/how-to-write-a-%27case-study%27-topic/) you might get more targeted information.

I'm in the same boat but I have all mine in VTSAX. Is the 2060 target retirement a better option?

For the OP, http://jlcollinsnh.com/stock-series/ is a great place to start.

See http://forum.mrmoneymustache.com/investor-alley/100-stocks-or-9010/ and http://forum.mrmoneymustache.com/investor-alley/why-would-i-be-in-anything-other-than-100-stocks/ for a taste of the perspectives on this issue.

VTTSX is a safe default answer, but the best option will be known only with hindsight.  It might be VTSAX...or something else....

I've put my 401K in a target 2060 retirement fund, but only because the only Vanguard funds offered were retirement accounts. That said, the allocation on this is fairly aggressive, so I'm not worried about giving up too much potential gains.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
