Inexpensive WIFI
« on: July 18, 2016, 02:30:59 PM »
Does anyone have a solution for inexpensive WIFI?  I have never purchased WIFI or paid for cable, but I have an Airbnb rental that I feel it necessary to provide the amenity of internet, but I cringe at the thought of paying a monthly bill for this "luxury".  Does anyone have an economical source for WIFI?

You just need an internet connection(which you apparently have since you're posting here) and a 30-40$ router.

Finding a cheap internet connection is just a matter of looking at your telecom providers to see who does it fit the cheapest amount.

Are you saying you don't have home internet service at all, or that it is not wireless (wifi)?

Internet service prices will vary nationwide, you have to look at what's available in your area. To set up wireless, you could follow a guide like this: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2375207,00.asp

And change the router admin password and the WiFi name (network name or SSID)  and password.

as others said , if you want to offer it, you would need two things for it
- some path into internet (likely from internet service provider).
- something to serve as access point. a cheap $20-30 router is  likely sufficient.

let us know if you want any help

If you plan on providing the amenity of Internet then at the end of the day charge a little extra for the rate of your airbnb rental to cover the cost of internet.

This. As others have said, meet an inexpensive N speed wifi router. Last, mid single digit Mbps speed internet service, dsl or cable internet, should be just fine for a rental.
