I was checking (obsessing?) about my budget and spending on Mint today, and one of their little adds popped up for a company called
RelayRides (
https://relayrides.com/). Basically, you list your car and can rent it out to people for a price you set per day/week/month. You can reject people if you don't like them or happen to want to use your car that day. The company covers insurance/damages, the customer pays for gas, and you get 75% of the renting cost. Renting out my car when I'm not using it? Is this too good to be true? I wouldn't expect to pull the $1000/mo they claim some people can make, but even a tenth that to offset gas and insurance would be heaven-sent.
Has anyone heard of this? Too good to be true or worth a try?
