advice sea kayaking _going to south shore Nova Scotia
« on: August 14, 2016, 08:33:47 PM »
hi all kayakers
in 2 weeks we'll be going on vacation to Nova Scotia for the first time
we plan to go sea kayaking, never been on a sea kayak
our location is La Have island, looks easy to kayak in the area,
but how should we approach our exploration?  should we study some maps, or only go along the shores...is safe no?
we'll have life jackets

How should we prepare?
Thanks

Haven't been there but have kayaked elsewhere.  Sea kayaking is different than lake kayaking.  Currents could take you out to sea if you end up in the wrong place.  Some sea kayak places don't even rent kayaks unless you can show you're trained and experienced.
