I had a debt go into collections and I paid it however the collections company is saying that I did not. Is there anything I can do? I have tried to dispute it through Experian but they haven't gotten back to me yet. Is there anything I can do to dispute it if Experian says that they still show it as unpaid? Thanks!

Do you have proof of payment (cancelled cheque, receipt, bank/credit card statement etc.)?

When you paid it, did you pay the original creditor or the collections company? If the former, contact them and ask them to help you. Perhaps they can provide a receipt for you.
Best of luck!

Also, how long has it been? Maybe the payment just hasn't posted.

Is the debt collection company telling you that you haven't paid it yet (ie. they are still trying to get more money from you), or is it just Experian not recording it as paid off?
If the former, take a look at http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection for more information
