Title: I live in Europe so which Index to buy and how?
Post by: dudeswithcars on November 12, 2018, 05:00:11 AM
Hi there! Proud to be a new member but need some advice.

I'm an American citizen working in Cyprus (part of the EU) and would like to start allocating my salary to a safe, European Index like the VFINX. I have NO idea how to invest here to match the "Mustachian" principles on this forum. Any advice or help in this regard would be great or just how to get started...

I have a Vanguard account in the States but have no idea what the equivalent is here so I can start putting my money to work!

Thanks!

I'm also an American living in Europe - in my case, Italy.  Unfortunately, for complicated US tax reasons, it's not a good idea for US citizens to invest outside the US.  Even if we are expats.  So you should stick with Vanguard or another American based fund (international stocks bought through an American based fund are OK though).
