Dollar shave club worth it?
« on: December 10, 2015, 09:18:14 PM »
Does anyone on this site do Dollar Shave Club?  If so, is it worth it or over-hyped?  I see the ads and wonder if it's worth it.  Presently we buy blades in bulk at Costco, but it's still an expensive endeavor.

Point of clarification:  A female is asking this question so (1) "Just let your beard grow" is not an option; and (2) Letting my leg hair grow is not something I want to explore.

EDITED:  I thought this topic didn't post earlier, but it did.  I tried to remove the duplicate, but it wouldn't.  Sorry.  See below thread.

I use a DE safety razor. I spent $9.41 on blades in September 2012 and still have well over half of them left.

If you don't want to use a DE or straight razor, then DSC is cheaper than the Mach3/etc equivalent. :)

I use it, but have switched to the "I'm not that hairy" option and get my blades delivered every other month.  I'm sure it isn't that Mustachian, but my big issue was always forgetting to buy blades, not being too broke to buy them.  I like it.  I get new blades when I want them, but don't spend as much as I used to on them.

I use them too. Good razors. Not great, but they get the job done with relative comfort. I have very thick hair too. I get them delivered every other month and currently have 12 unused blades. So at some point I will suspend my account with them.

I bought a 100 pack of DE blades sometime in 2013, still have probably 60.  Granted, I'm lazy and only shave probably twice a week, but it doesn't get much cheaper than just buying the metal part of the blade.

Haven't heard of too many women using them for shaving legs, then again, that's not a topic that regularly comes up in my conversations.
