HSA Admin Fees
« on: January 20, 2016, 12:07:07 PM »
Hi all,

I'm looking into fully funding an HSA as an investment vehicle the HSA option I have as an admin fee. For all Vanguard funds, the admin fee is .033% or 33 cents per thousand per month.  Does this remove the luster of the HSA option? It seems small but most mustachio'd members get agitated at the smallest fees.

Any advice is appreciated.

Yeah, the fee structure naturally pushes me away. But I guess it'll be 4 years before I reach that mark with the $3350 limit (meaning before I have to pay 3+ dollars a month). I suppose it's still worth it.

Even with the 0.033% monthly fee, your expense ratios will be under 0.5% annually. That's not great, but it's still probably better than paying tax on this money. I personally plan to spend down my HSA relatively soon during my early retirement since there's less fee drag on IRA accounts, but I still max it out every year.
