Title: How much to spend on rent

Hi there! I'm in a bit of a pickle right now.  I currently am in a 3br house with 2 roommates where I pay $575 in rent and another $150 for electric/gas/water/trash/cable/internet.  Unfortunately one of my roommates is moving in with their boyfriend and we have been unsuccessful so far in finding a replacement.  This leaves me looking for other options.

Question is:  How much does the mustachian community believe I should I be spending on rent?

I gross 4342/mth although being paid bi-weekly I like to budget on 4008/mth and also make side money giving sports lessons which goes to debt/savings.

I don't think anyone can tell you how much you should be spending on rent. That's your call. I do think you should try to minimize your expenses when it comes to housing but how you minimize is a better question than how much should you spend.
