How to sell gold?

I was cleaning out my jewelry a couple of weeks ago and found some 14K gold pieces that are of no value to me.  Where can I sell this?  I was thinking of taking it to my favorite jeweler.

Also, I have some rings that have stones in them that I will never wear... however I would like to keep the stones.  Is it inexpensive just to have a jeweler remove them?

I would like to get rid of this stuff and just move on.

I sold some recently at a local jeweler. You can call around and see how much they are paying. Aside from valuable stones (diamond, ruby, etc) the place I went to did not want the stones and bought gold by weight. They were willing to remove stones and give them back to me. It takes seconds to get a stone out, so it shouldn't be an issue.

Jeweler will take it, but not give very good price.
Suggest clean it up and market it in Ebay.
