I contribute 8% (required), and my employer contributes 11%.  I like it.  :)

The US arm of a European company: 5% automatic contribution first year, vested after 3 years. Other than that sign up bonus, it's a 100% match up to 6%, vested immediately. The 6% limit is inclusive of total compensation, including any bonuses or cashed out PTO. According to that lovely Brightscope site, the largest funds it's invested in are Vanguard Retirement funds.

A US conglomerate that Bain Capital took private, ravaged all the equity out of, took public, and dumped: 25% matching up to 3% of salary, with a 3 year vesting period. Also, the only funds available are custom, actively-managed funds from Northern Trust.

I prefer the Europeans.

I get 3% match, and 3% automatically put into a pension plan. So, 6% total. I am putting in 8% on my own right now, and will likely up that to 10% after the new year.

I work for a well known corporate company.  Me an my coworkers like to say they find a way to cut 10% every year!  This year they changed from matching with each paycheck to only matching December of each year.  If you leave before then you don't get any.   Guess this could be good in a down year, but bad in years like this year where the market has been great.

1% automatic
100% match up 5%

My company matches with 25% of whatever you put in.  So when I max it out by putting in $17,500, they add $17,500/4 to the account.  So you're incentivized to put in as much as possible.  This works out to about 5.5%-6% of my salary + bonus most years.

I am simply amazed at some of the matches being reported. I work for a worldwide delivery company and I they give me 2.5% if I put in 5%. Nothing else.

100% of the first 75% of my salary. Generous to say the least.

I'm already contributing 50% of my salary to my 401k and getting zero vested match. My company matches 50% of the first 6%, but the first time when that vests is after I hit the 2-year mark and when it is vested, it's 20% of that 50% of 6% (.006 of my salary). What company do you work for?

I got really excited about potentially making 175% of my salary at a company like that, but then I thought about employee contribution limits. You can only put in $17,500 per year. Your employer can put in more, but since this is a match, that means that you'll increase the contributions to your 401k to $35,000 a year. This is still nothing to sneeze at; it's a very great perk and like getting a raise over which you have complete control.

Matching is 55% of the first 5%, which works out to 2.75%.  Not great, but not terrible.

On top of that they automatically contribute a percentage based on your age.  I'm at 3% at age 33.  I think it moves up to 4% at age 35?

So total for me is 5.75% contributed by the company.

DH used to get a full 6% match, but just switched jobs to one without 401-K.
They just changed ours.  We were bought out and the new owners are keeping the match the same (for now), but changing the automatic company contribution to 4% for everyone instead of based on age.  That's good for me, I'll get the 4% 1 year earlier, but many of the older people are a bit ticked about the change.

Our new owners are all about cost savings.  ALL about cost savings.  They are nickle and diming us, it's very much the frog in water that's slowly being heated to boiling.  Hopefully I will be able to make a leap before I boil alive!

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
