The hedge fund I used to work for matched $ for $ up to the max tax advantaged amount of 401(k) contribution, ie if I put in $17.5k, they would too. Pretty fucking awesome deal to get an immediate 100% return!
They also did a triple match for charitable giving, any non-religious 501(c)3 charity that I donated to would get 3X what I contributed, up to a total yearly match of $15k per employee. So if I donated $5k to my favorite charity, they'd donate $15k to that charity. EVERY YEAR!
And even with the insane amount of money my coworkers were getting paid, many didn't take advantage of these two benefits! They were too busy upgrading their cars and apartments...which is why when I got laid off and told them I didn't need help finding another job as I'd be just fine living off my savings, they were flabbergasted!
