to Uncle Sam this year? I paid 5k for mine and I am pissed.

I paid about $1600 to the Canadian government. However, I got pretty good "value for my money" as I was hospitalized for a week last summer with Meningitis, which didn't cost me anything.

We owed about $18,000 to the USA and about $6,000 to our state. We should owe more, in my opinion, but what are you going to do.
-
We are about the same as Garth, which I considered a bargain.
Paying taxes doesn't make me mad. Crazy antics of politicians which waste said money makes me mad. We get a lot for what we pay, IMO. And. Being in the US, that doesn't even include healthcare. I mean, just having such awesome roads to drive on is worth a good chunk!
-
I paid 8% effective rate mainly because I don't make a lot and got a bunch of saver credits. I used to live in a shitty country so I don't mind paying taxes to live in this beautiful, safe and prosperous one!

$213

Give? Not sure that's the best word to describe taxes.
+1. I thought this was a charity thread.
-
Garth and Mayday WOW.

About $28,000 in federal and $4,000 in state taxes. Probably going to be closer to $50,000 for this year.. ouch!

I'm not gonna say how much we paid in total, but we had to give back an additional 8K to Uncle Sam this year. I've never had a bill that damn high before (but, of course, I can't really be complaining).
