How long to show on 401k account?

How long does it take for the money to show up in 401k account in Fidelity after salary is credited? My account always takes a couple of days to process the transaction. For eg, if I got paid on Friday, it shows up as processed only by Tuesday/Wednesday of next week. Is this common?

That's always been my experience.

That's how it's been for me in both plans I've had.

It entirely depends on your employer.  Many employers send the money to 401(k) providers the same day they process payroll, so it will show up a day or two later.

However, aren't required to send it immediately.  They legally have 60 days to send the money.  I once worked for a company that floated it ~30 days, but that's pretty uncommon.

I think mine shows up the day of or the next day, though I'm not sure as I don't really check. What I do know is it is dated the same day as my paycheck.

Mine show up 2 days after, DW are same as payday.

I work for a big company that uses Fidelity (just upgraded to Institutional Plus shares! w00t). I get paid on Thursdays, usually my buys happen the following Tuesday or Wednesday (obviously holidays are different).
