How do you utilize your benefits?
« on: September 21, 2016, 12:00:08 PM »
Hi everyone,

I'm 25, going to university, no kids or dependents and working part time and paying $160/mo to keep my benefits. I want to make best use of these to get my money's worth. Right now I'm utilizing:
-weekly massage (value: $440/month)
-dental (lots!)
-trying to get another set of orthotics (~$500).

I thought about trying to get prescription sun glasses as I have slightly less than perfect vision (20 - 2 in my right eye), but I got the impression this is a bit sketchy to try and redeem. What do you use your benefits for? Trying to milk them for all they're worth!

It's interesting that most insurance products are ones we hope to never use, yet health and dental insurance are the opposite and people try to "milk them for all they're worth!" as you say.

Of course you should use what you need, but anything beyond that will drive up premiums for everyone.

I haven't bought new glasses since 2008 and my plan now lets me get a new pair every year so I should probably get on that.
