Cheapest way to get a listing on the MLS
« on: June 25, 2014, 07:48:11 AM »
Hi all,

What's the cheapest way to get onto the MLS?  I have a listing on forsalebyowner.com, but the package that includes the MLS listing is a little steep.  I chose the basic "Until Sold" package, which is $184 in my area.

Is this website a good choice?  http://www.mlsmyhome.com/ says it will give 6 months access to the MLS for $199.  That seems like a good deal to me.  But I've never done this before.

Yes, a flat fee MLS listing service is the cheapest way to go (the alternative being a Realtor) if you're trying to FSBO and get your listing on the MLS.
I am a former teacher who accumulated a bunch of real estate, retired at 29, spent some time traveling the world full time and am now settled with three kids.
If you want to know more about me, this Business Insider profile tells the story pretty well.
I (rarely) blog at AdventuringAlong.com. Check out the Now page to see what I'm up to currently.

Great.  That's what I thought.  I just wanted someone to confirm it.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
