Title: How do you satisfy your need for speed in a cost effective manner?

I personally have an older cbr600, I bought it when I was 19 for $2600 and for the most part I only changed the tires.  Ok, I also wrecked an engine by having the oil plug fall out, but that only set me back about $1000, live and learn.  Not too horrible over the five years I had it.  Insurance is dropping to about $25 a month for excellent coverage and it tends to get 40-50mpg.  I am curious to see what everyone else's rides are that satisfy that primal urge for speed in a cost effective manner.
