Anyone have any tips on working thru insurance claim from water damage in home? My water event occured a year ago, all was repaired and now wood floors are showing damage. Evidently dry out team is negligent. I'm trying to project out any future damage that may result due to the moisture remaining in the home. I'm thinking walls need to be cut open to see if wood framing, insulation and drywall are intact....am I over-reacting?

No you are not over-reacting. If they got wet and never totally dried out you could have mold problems. When my basement flooded, my adjuster told me if problems showed up later (i.e. premature rusting in the washer/dryer) I could reopen my claim. Of course your insurance may vary.
For reference, there were two industrial dehumidifiers plus fans going in the basement for a week, all the laminate flooring in the main area plus the tile floor in the laundry room was removed. The crew had a moisture sensor for the drywall, and removed either a few inches (where barely wet) or 24" (standard for more than a few inches of damp). When the basement RH matched the main floor RH the basement was considered dry, and they then sprayed a fungicide/bactericide in all the wall cavities.

My insurance company brought in an engineer to determine if wood floor damage is from the original water event in my home or if it could be from groundwater.....my house is taking over my life.

How's it going, roadside? Any update on this?

Houses can do that shit... Good luck.

To update, the forensic engineer brought in to determine the cause of origin of the floor damage determined that the damage is from the original water loss and the dryout man was negligent.
Still working to Finalize the claim, but the flooring will be coming up and I am having tile installed.
It's been quite the ordeal, but I have learned a lot along the way.

Good luck! Your positive attitude is admirable.
