Title: Home Wi-Fi in Colorado?
Post by: lena1001 on October 01, 2014, 08:02:33 AM
I'm new to the site and wondering what people use in CO (I live in Broomfield) for their home wi-fi service?  We currently have a bundle package and are paying WAY too much.  We're in the process of canceling our TV and researching the best VoIP phone options (we have little kids so the 911 availability is key, rather than using cell phones), but are stuck on affordable wi-fi.  I appreciate any feedback.

Thanks!

We pay $30 a month for Centurylink's 20mbps service. And we bought the modem for $100 instead of renting. Last month our 12 month promo price ended so I called and got their lowest price for another 12 months.

Edited to say: we live in Boulder

Internet service providers sometimes charge a "Wifi" fee, which is basically them renting you a "wireless router" which is what converts your wired internet signal into a wireless signal.

What you want to do is buy your own modem and router and just buy the service, thereby getting the base rate without renting any equipment.
