help me with air purifiers! (please?)
« on: March 28, 2021, 06:05:46 PM »
So, I've somehow managed to inherit both:

https://molekule.com/air-purifier-mini#miniMiniPlus
and
https://www.amazon.com/RabbitAir-BioGS-SPA-421A-Pearl-White/dp/B004U39VHQ/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_pdt_img_top?ie=UTF8

Neither is currently in use but I do live in Northern California where we now have an annual smoke/wildfire season. The molekule is close to brand new. The RabbitAir seems to function fine but definitely needs a new filter, which costs about $65.

I don't have allergies nor do I even seem to be particularly sensitive to poor air quality, but I'm in a shared apartment with very limited storage space and I am itching to get rid of at least one if not both of these. However, I know/can understand very little about the technology that either of these things use, so it is very hard to figure out which to keep and which to ditch.

Anyone more familiar with this category of consumer goods and have any thoughts to share?

If you don’t have allergies or suffer abnormally during poor air quality days, I struggle to understand why you would want to keep either of them given your space restrictions.

thought exercise: If you wouldn’t buy an air purifier, why would you keep one just because it was given to you?

Thank you for this thought exercise. Simple but did the trick. Getting rid of both and will make my own HEPA filter with a box fan down the road if it becomes an issue!
