Help me build website for my upcoming cafe
« on: October 24, 2017, 08:56:24 PM »
Hey Mustachians,

I am launching a cafe in my city- a waffle store to be precise. I need to build  a simple but beautiful website for it.

I do not have any image editing or coding knowledge but I guess it's fairly easy nowadays to design websites without any coding. I have already bought domain & hosting and installed Wordpress.  If anyone can guide me it would be great!

I'm a non-coding person and I build a lot of websites for the non-profit where I work.  Are you on Wordpress.org or Wordpress.com? Sounds like you are probably on .org

.org lets you download lots of different themes and plugins to customize your site - more of a DYI approach.  .com is less customizable.  They restrict your choices of themes, etc. but probably a bit easier for many people.  I started with .org and was able to figure it out without much trouble.  Used web forums or help topics on my host site when I get stuck.  and I prefer .org because I have more choices.  I like having the choices of themes to download.

One theme I use a lot is from themeisle.  Lots of homepage options built in.  They have free and paid options.  So you can try before you buy or not buy at all. If you buy a theme you should get support to help if anything isn't working properly.  Also they'll update their theme better than most free themes.  You get what you pay for.

Mostly I recommend playing with different themes and plugins until you find one you like.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
