Number 1 rule early in a Software Engineering career is to move often. If you don't at least double your current total comp in the next 5 years then you're doing it wrong.

I started pretty high (100k) so Iím not sure doubling is possible in 5 years but maybe it is! I really like what Iím doing now so thatís also a big improvement for me.

It is possible :).

It is possible :).

I started out at ~90k comp target (base + bonus) out of college 7 years ago. My comp target this year working full time remote in MN is $240k. It's definitely possible.

I'm pretty sure I could make significantly more but I really like where I'm at and the work life balance of the current job.
