Health Insurance for Young RE Agent
« on: January 05, 2015, 01:25:55 PM »
I'm admittedly clueless when it comes to health insurance.  I'm 24, and eligible to be covered under my parent's plan until I'm 26.

My brokerage offers health insurance through AXA... I got some quotes, lowest basic/catastrophic plan through Humana starts at $207/mo.  Non-eligible for HSA.

Looking at eHealthInsurance.com, there's a bronze HSA-eligible plan through United Healthcare available for about the same price, $200/mo.

I would love some input on this.  Should I piggy back off my mom's employer plan until I'm 26? Or get my own plan? I have an HSA set up from my last employer and would like to keep contributing to that if possible.  I believe I'm eligible to max 2014 and 2015 and plan to do that.

Thanks!
