Having two households 1000 miles apart

I just finished a phone interview and was let know that if the company hires me, they need me to start two weeks before my husband can leave (and my older daughter is in school for that time period). The plan we have so far is for me and my younger daughter to go early with our minimum needs and then my husband and my older daughter to come in two/three weeks later.  What things should I consider?

Daycare, we have that settled. ;) I'm more thinking things about having two household for a short period of time,

Well, you will probably need an extended-stay hotel, something furnished and equipped with pots and pans and preferably linens. With a kid, you want easy access to a laundry. If you drive, you can take clothes and kid stuff and then will have a car there.

I did this for 7 weeks and got an airbnb... you shouldn't really need much other than clothes and your vehicle.

For 2 weeks, I'd probably just stay in an extended stay hotel.

My answer is the same... I dunno. You're really not maintaining 2 households, you're transitioning houses and for awhile there's overlap.

You might be able to find a 1 month rental that's furnished but they are typically $$$. The extended stays are flexible and built exactly for this purpose. Is this objectionable for some reason?

Mostly the cost. And the one I stayed in that was not over priced was not clean. 
Honestly I have not decided anything yet, just getting info.  Who know I might not even get the job.

My wife and I have done this. The ideal situation is to find the place you want to live in together and get it now. If it isn't available, a short term lease or airbnb is a good bet. we set up a 2 month lease with a reputable apartment complex. sure, it cost a little more, but the peace of mind and ease of transition was worth it.

DH and I have done this. If you have to buy/sell a house on either end find out whether you can legally do that without both of you being present. Shouldn't be an issue in most places, but in it was for one of our moves.

I did this for 8 weeks when we moved cross country three years ago, and I stayed in an AirB&B.  It was cheaper than even a cheap extended stay hotel and MUCH nicer.  Easy peasy. 

Good point by @TrMama about the real estate closing.  Definitely check on that.  For us, we were able to do the closing with only one of us there, but we had to have a special power of attorney executed beforehand.

So spend a few hours cleaning it if the price is right otherwise.

Looks like the company did not like me so I likely won't be going out early.  Thank you all for your help and ideas.
