Personal injury auto accident settlement
« on: December 15, 2017, 04:56:33 PM »
Hi all,

Spouse, 2.5 year old son and I were in a rear end collision back in October. We were stopped at a red light and rear ended by another driver. We have had our Nissan Leaf repaired to the tune of $1,400. We took our kid for a check up at his pediatrician after I was diagnosed with a concussion and whiplash, and spouse was diagnosed with whiplash.

2 months later, here's our situation:

3 days off work for me. I would have taken more but I am a teacher and making sub plans was far harder with my concussion than just suffering through the nausea and blurred vision at work. I also went to 3x weekly chiropractic treatment for Oct 4-Dec 13.

Spouse had a total of 8 hours off work. He had 3x weekly chiropractic treatment for Oct 4-Dec 13.

Kid had 1 check up with doctor. He seems to have no lasting effects.

Spouse and I have been cleared by chiropractor. My concussion seems to have passed after a month of weird symptoms.

Medical bills thus far: $3725 for spouse + $4500 for me + $120 for kid. Time off work = $1,100 for spouse and me.

What's a reasonable and fair ask when we settle with other driver's insurance?

Thanks for advice.

Talk to an attorney. They will likely give you a free consultation and will return more in settlement (making up for the contingency fee). If nothing else, they may give you a ballpark to ask for if it’s not enough for them to pick up.
