Internet options in DC?
« on: February 02, 2016, 12:44:26 PM »
I cut the cord and now rely on Netflix and Hulu for TV, and a $20 HD antenna that works amazingly well.

Problem is, I get highspeed DSL Internet from Verizon now because it was the cheapest option from them, and the quality is terrible.  And it costs $54.00, which seems pricey to me for Internet (they make you pay for landline phone service too, which I don't use).

Does anyone know of other good options for Internet in the DC area?  RCN isn't available in my building.  Comcast customer service is atrocious so would prefer not to go down that route.  I'm hoping there's some great Internet company that I haven't heard of yet...

Alas, no. I had rcn and that was 50. Now I have verizon for 50, and I'm not required to have a phone line. You could tether from your phone. Cutting netflix and hulu would probably save you more money.

I used to absolutely hate Comcast but have not had a single problem with them in 5 years, so maybe worth giving them another try? We pay ~$60 for the second tier speed of internet, but have had to call and threaten to cancel whenever they try to jack up the rate.

I managed to get Verizon to drop, down to $45 for Internet. I had more, problems with Comcast. Neither of them are ideal. I a, not, aware of any other options.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
