using retirement money for education
« on: January 15, 2015, 08:57:44 AM »
I'm going back to school for an MBA. The IRS says money in an IRA can be used for education expenses without penalty. (You still have to pay the income tax, of course.) Has anybody ever done this? What kind of things count as education expenses? Parking permit? Student ID? Mileage from house to school? Can you point to specific IRS publications that address this?

Thank you!

How much money are we talking about?  Why do you need an MBA?
