UK Mustachians

Hi everyone, I'm living in central London (moved here from New Zealand three years ago) and trying to maximise my opportunities and minimise waste/expenses. Does any one have any great UK or London specific tips to share?

My number one would be to get off the tube and walk. Turns out my 40 minute commute is still 40 minutes if I walk...! So I get exercise and save some cash.

To be honest housing is such a huge cost in London that if you can keep that under control then you are laughing. Cutting pounds here and there by using markets and walking/cycling and so on is great stuff, but it's terrifyingly small potatoes compared to most rents/house prices.

So my top tip would be a sequence like this:

Share a house with lots of people in zone 2/3
Make sure you are maximising your income (which is something London is great for)
Earn that money
Take advantage of all the free culture on offer
Get the hell out to somewhere with a lower COL and friendlier people
