Bay Area/ Silicon Valley fee only financial planner
« on: October 01, 2016, 05:23:49 PM »
Does anyone have a recommendation for a fee-only financial planner in the Bay Area?

I live in Monterey County but also have a house in Silicon Valley and am happy to travel anywhere in the Bay for the right person (I assume that will only be a 1x/year trip).

I am hoping to find a Mustachian-friendly financial planner who can do a better job of helping to get us organized and also get my husband to better understand our financial situation.

We should be bare bones FI in 5-6 years and plan to semi-retire at that point.

Thank you!

Also wondering... what is a typical price for this service: per hour? how many hours? etc.

Were you able to find a financial planner? We are in the bay area too and I'm looking for one.

I'm also looking for someone & have a few referrals from friends/neighbors. I'm planning on meeting with the first contact next week, & will share if useful.

Fomerly known as something

Why limit yourself by location.  Like everything else financial planning works well with zoom.  FWIW I’m in the Bay Area and my planner is in Michigan.  It actually works well since I can have my meetings at 7am pacific 10am eastern.

I was going to ask this same question.  I'm not currently working with a planner, but I met with a couple when we moved from the US to Canada, and they were located in other provinces.  It was totally fine to do it on Zoom.  Unfortunately, I don't have any recs as all the ones I know about are in Canada.
