I know we as consumers never buy what we need, but maybe this will force manufactures to stop making solely 100k monster trucks?
The potential for delivery drivers/construction sites/letter carriers/farm work is pretty incredible if you ask me. This just all means I can buy one in 2 years for like 2500 bucks!

Yeah I am more then aware of the chicken tax and the extreme protectionism that it allows.
A guy can hope that something like this will get the established players off their asses. But why sell reasonable trucks when you can finance a leather wrapped house towing monster truck for 120 months at 6%??

Top speed of 28mph kills it as a road vehicle.

While probably legally true I don't see why. Its not like my top speed on a bike is over 28 mph, except on substantial hills (grade or length and given I'm in the land-of-the-flat-midwest I don't see a lot of either).

And those tests are just the vehicle hitting something. This is a very light vehicle so it's a pretty low mass-energy collision. Can you imagine what the damage of a 3/4 ton pickup hitting one of these would be?!?!

Because you can typically pass a bike, and you can't pass this on the road except in a passing zone. Many roads have minimum speed limits. And this thing won't be road legal just about anywhere.
Now, that doesn't mean it's not useful, to some people, some of the time, especially for the cost, but it's more of a property or facility vehicle than a road replacement for an actual truck.

Can't go on a road in most areas, 1100 lb payload (which probably doesn't include the driver), short bed, limited to no towing capacity... explain what benefit this has, again? It's about as useful as a utility wagon towed behind my tractor.
